About Us:

There often comes a time when aging parents or a disabled spouse has developed physical or cognitive limitations that make it challenging to perform tasks safely in their homes. Many are at risk for falls and injuries and don’t know what to do.

Family members are often thrusted into the role of a caregiver, with a desire to help support the needs of loved ones but soon finding themselves overwhelmed, physically exhausted, and disconnected from their lives.

These are huge problems and a source of stress for those aging and the ones devoted to their care.

Welcome to Finding A Foothold Aging and Caregiving Consulting Service, where we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of both our aging loved ones and decreasing the stress and burnout of family members who provide assistance in caring for aging parents and disabled spouses.

Through personalized group coaching and one-on-one consultations, Finding A Foothold is committed to delivering client-centered assistance which allows for the development of a plan that supports the specific needs of our aging senior community and their caregivers. We empower our aging loved ones by arming them with the knowledge to create a safe environment for aging in place while also equipping family caregivers with tools and directing them to resources that enable them to provide efficient care for their loved ones in a manner that also supports their own physical and mental wellbeing.

Our services include personalized home safety assessments for aging adults, performed by a Certified Aging In Place Specialist and Fall Prevention Specialist, helping our aging seniors to decrease fall risks and age in place safely and with increased independence. By implementing simple changes in the home environment, leaving the home to live with adult children or in a longterm care facility can be delayed or prevented.

Finding A Foothold provides additional support through our newsletters, blog and podcasts which addresses specific questions and challenges shared by our community.

We want you to know that you are not alone. We want to show you an easier and safer way to live and care. We aim to be the space for connection and support, enabling caregivers to find courage to balance their caregiving responsibilities with other vital aspects of their lives.

At Finding A Foothold, our goal is to help you craft a comprehensive roadmap that ensures ongoing support as you encounter the challenges that arise in aging and caregiving.

Adding to my professional experience as an Occupational Therapist is the wealth of knowledge and learning gained from direct hands-on experience as primary caregiver to my mother who had several strokes, to an “aunt” who had Alzheimer’s and to a daughter born with a congenital birth defect.

I was also the owner and operator of a 6 bed personal care home for the elderly.

Let’s start the journey together.

My experience has equipped me with skills needed to offer insight and practical knowledge to help our aging community and caregivers to properly and strategically address the concerns that come with aging. Allow me to use my professional experience as an Occupational Therapist coupled with my first-hand experience as a caregiver to champion you towards success as you find your foothold as you terrain the aging and caregiving journey.
