Workshops and Webinars

Our interactive workshops, webinars and home safety evaluations help older adults and caregivers prevent falls, adapt homes for safety, and support independence with confidence.

Community-Based Sessions
Our caregiver and fall prevention workshops are offered both online and in-person at trusted community spaces — including libraries, churches, senior housing complexes, and other public venues. We partner with organizations that serve aging adults and their families, making these sessions easy to attend and rooted in real-life needs.

These sessions offer well-rounded insight on caregiving, home safety, and aging in place. They’re designed to equip you with tools, resources, and strategies from professionals in the field — including occupational therapists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and social workers. Whether you’re caring for a loved one or planning ahead for yourself, you’ll leave with practical guidance you can use right away.

Home Safety Evaluations

Finding a Foothold Foundation proudly provides fall prevention workshops, caregiver education, and home safety evaluations for seniors and families across the Baton Rouge area.

Participants who complete a Finding a Foothold workshop or webinar may qualify for a Home Safety Evaluation by a licensed and certified occupational therapist.

These in-home assessments provide personalized recommendations to make daily activities safer and easier — from bathroom setups and fall-risk areas to adaptive equipment and practical home modifications.

Because the Foundation focuses on helping underserved seniors and caregivers in the Baton Rouge area, priority is given to participants who live locally and have successfully completed an educational series.
