Finding Foothold LLC is the professional education and consulting branch of Finding A Foothold Foundation—helping organizations, professionals, and families prevent falls, reduce caregiver injuries, and create safer environments for older adults.
Empowering Safer Aging and Sustainable Caregiving
For more than 30 years, Consuela Marshall, OT, CHAT, CAPS, CDP, CGCP, has supported and educated older adults and caregivers in maintaining safety, independence, and confidence at home. Through Finding Foothold LLC, she provides professional speaking, consulting, and training services that transform knowledge of prevention into practical action.
Her work blends clinical insight with compassion—translating prevention knowledge into practical strategies that support older adults in remaining safely and independently for as long as possible. She also equips family caregivers with the education and strategies they need to prevent burnout and injury, work more efficiently, and support loved ones living with physical or cognitive changes, including dementia.

Each session turns complex caregiving challenges into practical, realistic steps — from learning safe ways to assist with bathing or transfers to recognizing when a home or care plan needs to be adapted.
Our two-part caregiver sessions provide a supportive space to ask questions, learn hands-on strategies, and connect with others who understand what you’re facing.

Through decades of clinical practice and personal caregiving, I’ve seen how one change—one conversation—can shift the course of a family’s entire journey.
Those early changes don’t just improve safety and confidence—they can also reduce caregiver strain, prevent avoidable injuries, and help limit the physical, emotional, and financial toll that often follows a crisis.
That’s why I’m passionate about bringing this message forward wherever it’s needed most.
